Today I went visit the second floor of the library on the Bloomsburg Campus. I created a simple diagram of the second floor of the library. While I was at the library I also took notes on how many people were there. I counted that about 45 people were on the second floor of the library alone. About 10 people were on the school desktop computers and about 12 people were separated into small groups and in the group study rooms. There were also about 20 people who were using individual desks and studying by themselves as well. The last 3 students were sitting on comfy chairs reading magazines. This suggests to me that students today like coming to the library study instead of trying to study in their rooms. My observation proves to be positive in my case because I find it hard to study in my room. I have so many distractions, whether its people, television, etc., that keep me from doing my work. The library provides students a quiet place to concentrate in order to complete their homework and study. The large amount of people that are in the library also suggest that while students like to socialize and do fun things, they also make time to study and keep up with schoolwork. This shows me that at some level we all have some kind of time management skills. I find that having time management skills are excellent to have. Hopefully my college skills will get better as my time as a college freshman continues.
